I have a collection of Linux hosts I'd like to get some work for here. Most Updates fail to download work with the following message:

Boinc wrote:
Requesting new tasks for CPU
Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks
No tasks sent
Tasks are committed to other platforms

So can we get some WU's for Linux please? :)

I'd interpret that message as something that's controlled on the server side. Especially seeing as the server reports plenty of available, unsent, WU's.

Hi zombie67,

As I can see your hosts are working ok. Are there still issues?

Thanks 3Rni && zombie67 =)

They are working fine, but they're also working on other projects simply because there's not always enough work available for them here. One of the advantages of the BOINC system. :)

There does seem to have been a bit of an increase in available work, and I appreciate that. Even if it is simply the BOINC server self adjusting the workload balance.

I'll be moving on in just another couple of days. But we'll stop back in shortly for another go at it.

Hi all,

Yes I've been getting the same "No tasks sent, Tasks are committed to other platforms" for the last 2 days. Managed to get a few tasks now and again. No tasks for the last 50 work requests though.

Windows 7 64-bit

Hi Conan and Kasi,

The previous message to "No tasks sent, Tasks are committed to other platforms" must be similar to:

"No task available for: ${Name_of_application}"

¿Can you tell me what name of app shows your pc?

Regards

Thank you for your reply Félix.

BOINC Manager Tasks tab shows application as "Triatomic quasiclassical trajectory calculation S2 2.13"

When starting tasks BOINC Manager Event Log shows for example: "Starting task triqct_S2_ClCH4_050_270593419_w_2 using triqct_S2 version 213 in slot 1"

Windows Task Manager shows "triqct_S2_windows_intelx86_61220.exe *32" and the wrapper is "wrapper_windows_intelx86_61200.exe *32"

I have since downloaded 21 tasks which is 3 tasks per core for the 7 BOINC cores I am running. The failure to download tasks appears to be intermittent, but it would not be good for someone new to this project as they may go to another project that has work available immediately.

I too am also now getting work.
But as Kashi has said it is intermittent with 4 failed attempts then 1 or many successful attempts before another few failures.

I appear to be getting the same files that Kashi is (32 bit for me).

My Linux machines don't appear to getting this problem.

Getting work, completing it, reporting it and getting credit:

8434628 4105906 2967 9 Feb 2013 | 9:08:17 UTC 9 Feb 2013 | 10:37:29 UTC Completed and validated 2,649.25 2,639.49 26.47 Triatomic quasiclassical trajectory calculation S2 v2.13

Got one triqct_s2_windows_intelx86_61220.exe Windows pop-up error.

8434636 4105910 2967 9 Feb 2013 | 9:08:17 UTC 9 Feb 2013 | 11:58:59 UTC Error while computing 4,523.24 2,451.42 --- Triatomic quasiclassical trajectory calculation S2 v2.13

I suspended the task, closed the pop-up error, and then resumed but it failed.
I had LAIM on because the tasks don't checkpoint. Turning LAIM off would either make the task restart, or it would still failed. Just saying.
