Dear admin,

It is not easy to dedicate 100% of a computer to your project if the client doesn't have any buffer.

I can understand you prefer as fast as possible results but I suggest you to allow more tasks in progress than your current limit (1 per core) for the following reason:

1) When a unit finish, the client will send it and ask for new. But if no buffer, it has wasted some idle resources during that time
2) In case of any issue of your server (Unavailable like I had few hours ago in fact !), client can still run for a short period of time
3) Some computer might not be 100% of the time connected.

Hope you can do it !

Thank you !

Hi all,

We have increased the current limit of WU´s per core to 3.

We want to test the behaviour of this new configuration.

Thanks Again Dudumomo

I think this is a good idea. Being able to cache a few WUs makes me more comfortable to run Rioja alone, without another project as a backup in case Rioja ran out of work while I wasn't looking. :)

3 WUs per core seems good. If you find that this is working well, you might even try 5 or more.

How is doing the server?
It looks difficult sometimes to have WUs.
Hope your server is handling well the load.

All the best

Hi Dudumomo,

The chemistry department has been working on new types of simulations and we preferred to launch a few WU´s to test the results.

The server is ok.

Thanks for caring and sorry for the delay
